This episode is all about the pen pals that wrote me while I was in prison! I'm so thankful to have had even a single person write me while I was incarcerated. This unexpectedly became the second part of last episode due to the length of the story. I was dispatched to the Mendocino Complex fire in California in 2018 while I was part of an inmate wildland firefighting crew after only a week of "training." Nearly died in the beginning. Exciting!
